Free Resources – Free Shelf Library
Prepping Bargains has always been about helping you prepare for anything without overpaying for it. The Free Shelf is our way of giving back to the community that makes this site what it is. We gather the best free preparedness resources we can find, courses, books, and downloads, and keep them in one place so you can keep learning and keep building your skills without spending a dime.
Knowledge is the one part of your kit that never runs out and never expires on a shelf. We believe everyone in our community should be able to reach it, whether money is tight this month or you just like a good free find. Help yourself to anything below, and check back often, because we add to the shelf as we find more.
Free Courses
Our Free Courses are free online courses that build real preparedness skills, taught at your own pace. When you finish, you can earn a certificate or work toward a diploma to add to your resume if you want one, though taking the course is always free.
We have grouped them into learning tracks that match the way preppers actually think, from first aid and food preservation to solar power, water treatment, and gardening and growing your own. Browse the whole collection on our Free Courses page.
Free Kindle Books
Our Free Kindle Books are a rotating list of preparedness and homesteading titles that are free on Amazon right now. They cover the topics you would expect from us: food storage, gardening, off-grid living, first aid, and survival skills.
A few honest notes so you know what you are getting. These free deals usually last only a day or two, so grab the ones you want while they are still free. If a book helps you, please leave the author a quick review as a thank you, since that is the kindest way to support a free book.
And a heads up: some titles may be AI generated, and we simply do not have the time to read every book or judge its quality. Use your own judgment, and see what is free today on our Free Kindle Books page.
Free Downloads
Our Free Downloads cover our main topics, from food and water to power, gardening, and self-reliance. Some are government publications, the kind of solid, no-nonsense guides your tax dollars already paid for. Others are older works worth keeping, like vintage cookbooks and homesteading manuals from a time when self-sufficiency was simply daily life.
How it works is simple. Browse the library, click the ones you want, and download them straight to your own computer to keep. Start browsing on our Free Downloads page.
We add to the Free Shelf often, so it is worth a bookmark. And while you are stocking up on knowledge, our daily deals can help you stock up on gear for less.
