• Door reinforcement kits and long strike screws — [$20–$100], and the highest return per dollar in the whole category.
• Quality deadbolts — [$30–$150]. Grade 1 or Grade 2 hardware; the grade tells you more than the price does.
• Cameras and video doorbells — [$50–$250]. Check whether local storage is supported before you buy into a subscription.
• Safes — [$100–$1000]. Fire rating and anchoring matter more than weight. An unbolted safe is a portable one.
